Are you an emerging artist? Or know of one?
The GGAF Emerging Artist Program is a mentoring program designed to help create the opportunities for up and coming Artists. Our goal is to give this next generation of Artists the foundation they need to begin their art show careers.
Jeanne LeGrand is a BFA and BSN graduate, mixed media artist residing in Pensacola, Florida.
Currently, her time is split as an Artist and working as a Registered Nurse. Although they are significantly different vocations, nursing is a constant reminder of the fragility of life, influencing much of her art. Jeanne's paintings have often been described as having ethereal or dreamlike qualities. She is drawn to the spiritual essence that lives in all creatures. Seen through the female eye, flora and fauna are used as symbols representing an expression of this theme. In addition, sometimes words or songs inspire her, which is added as text to certain pieces.
A unique quality of many of her paintings, is that they contain some sort of glow in the dark element. This feature can only be revealed in the dark or with black light, adding a magical, mysterious layer to each piece.
