2026 Invited International Artist

Mandy Bangerter is a textile artist and teacher based in St Helens on the Isle of Wight, in the United Kingdom, where she has lived for the past eight years after falling in love with the area during her first visit. She studied Visual Communication at UCA in Kent while raising her family, later completing a PGCE at the University of Brighton and going on to teach art and photography in secondary schools.

Since moving to the Island, Mandy has been able to devote more time to developing her own practice, working across fabric, print, paint and photography to create layered, stitched images. It's a combination she finds endlessly versatile — one that lets her explore her love of drawing, respond to the land and sea around her, and tell the stories of the people and places she values. Alongside her own work, she continues to enjoy teaching, taking on residencies in schools and running stitch-based workshops.
